What I do: I act as an engineer to build events and experiences that strengthen relationships between the key sales and relationship management executives of our firm and their clients and prospects. I work hand-in-hand with a talented group of marketing partners from inception to execution to follow-up, and make sure that at every step our event strategy is aligned with the business goals of the firm. I also work closely with our company’s senior executives to ensure that key themes are communicated to colleagues and clients, whether it’s an intimate dinner or a 2,000-person conference.

How I got here: I began my career at a small boutique firm managing insurance associations, which included coordination of their member events. These events, which ranged in size from small meetings to larger conferences, sparked a passion for working in event management that naturally led me to where I am today.

Greatest career accomplishment: I’ve recently been named a lead event manager for our firm’s largest marquee event.

Specific improvement I’ve made: I implemented wearable beacon technology at our largest client conference, which gathered priceless intelligence on our attendees’ behaviors. This information will help shape content strategy and conference structure for future events.

What I am working on now: I am currently working on our largest conference set to take place this Spring at a new venue in a new city. I am excited about how we reimagined this 20-year old event, implementing new ideas that will drive growth in attendance, bring more value to attendees, increase engagement with clients and grow sponsorship dollars.

What I do outside of work: I’m passionate about supporting organizations dedicated to rescuing animals. I’m an unofficial tourism representative for Portugal, the country of my parents’ birth, and I try to visit as often as possible. I also enjoy every opportunity possible to enjoy live music.
