What I do: I am on the business development and account management team for NHS Global Events, which is a full-service meeting and event management company. It is my responsibility to identify clients in need of our services and further ensure that our team delivers the best possible service throughout our relationship.

How I got here: I had no idea how vast the hospitality industry was until I joined a transportation company in 2012 and became a member of the MPI-Chicago Area Chapter. At the first event I attended, I met the co-owner of NHS Global Events, Sean Lynch, who was the president of the chapter at the time. We stayed in touch through networking. After my time selling convention transportation and then working for a destination management company in Chicago, I joined NHS Global Events in March 2016.

Greatest career accomplishment: I was awarded the Young Professional Achievement Award from MPI’s Chicago Area Chapter in 2015. This award recognizes an individual 30 years of age or younger with five or less years of professional experience that has made outstanding contributions to the meetings and hospitality industry.

Impressive stats: For a conference of 4,000, I saved 47 percent on transportation costs where we repurposed 24 percent of the budget to move into paying for a new technology that offered the ability to track attendee engagement for the first time at this conference.
