Louisville Always Brings Something Fresh to the Table

If you haven’t visited Louisville, Kentucky, lately, you might not recognize it. The entire downtown is nearing the completion of a $1 billion revitalization. Famous for a certain white-suited Colonel’s eleven-herbed and spiced masterpiece, Derby Pie® and the Hot Brown, there’s plenty more to discover. Louisville offers boundary pushing twists on Southern cuisine­­­­—many recipes featuring a dash or two of the city’s famous Bourbon. Convention goers will find 130 restaurants within walking distance of KICC. Which is a major reason Louisville has been named one of the “10 Tastiest Towns” by Southern Living, the “Next Hot Food City” by Zagat and “One of the best foodie towns in America” by Bon Appetit Magazine.

Once KICC guests finish devouring delicious dishes, they can check into Louisville’s new hotel scene. From bargain to boutique, by the end of 2018, Louisville will have more than 5,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of KICC. This includes the new four-diamond Omni Hotel, located adjacent to KICC, which will feature 612 rooms, 70,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa, two full-service restaurants, a rooftop pool-side café and a swanky lobby lounge.

Also, close by on East Market Street in the middle of the growing NuLu district, will be a brand-new AC Marriott. Filled to the brim with some of Louisville’s most sought after local eats, a few small distilleries and even an axe-throwing venue, NuLu is your go-to for some easy excitement. The new AC Marriott and its 150 rooms will put KICC goers in the center of after-work fun.
