Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta Mixes Luxury and Baseball

By Sara Delgado, February 5, 2018

The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta, the final piece of The Battery Atlanta, has finally arrived. The hotel is the pièce de résistance of the mixed-use development in Cobb County, just outside of Atlanta’s city limits.

The new hotel features a pool deck overlooking SunTrust Park, a James-Beard award-winning chef owned anchor restaurant, and an overwhelming amount of access to numerous restaurants and shopping experiences.

The picture of The Battery Atlanta today was a “four-year vision in the making,” says Terry McGuirk, CEO and chairman of the Atlanta Braves. After 20 years at Turner Field in Downtown Atlanta, the Braves’ migration to Cobb County is a new chapter for the organization.

The methodology behind this family-by-day, adult-by-night amusement park is clear: live, work, eat, shop and soak in the spirit and flavors of Atlanta and maybe catch a game or two while you’re there.

Sports entertainment like The Battery have been on the rise over the last few years in cities like the Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles.

With 50/50 ownership from the Braves organization and Omni Hotels & Resorts, the new hotel—visible from any seat in Suntrust Park— bleeds shades of red and blue and baseball-inspired artwork. Much like a baseball bat, guest room numbers are branded into wood paneling and bedroom headboards feature a patched leather reminiscent of a baseball glove. Guests can find antique scouting reports of Hank Aaron framed in the bathrooms and ball rooms that feature chandeliers designed after upside down championship trophies.

Surrounding the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta is a hand-picked assortment of renowned Atlanta-based restaurants and shops, an open lawn perfect for sunny days, the Coca-Cola Roxy concert hall and Comcast fiber internet access embedded throughout the development.

The amenities are a strong selling point for groups who choose The Battery over established Atlanta-area destinations near Georgia World Congress Center and in Buckhead, a trendy, upscale district.

The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta features more than 20,000 square feet of meetings and event space. Groups can also utilize SunTrust Park for off-site receptions and/or behind-the-scenes tours.

“When we say ‘local color, local flavor’ it’s not a tagline. It’s what we live by. When you walk into this hotel, you will know that you are in the city of Atlanta and you will know that we are partners with the Atlanta Braves,” remarks General Manager Ramon Reyes.
