Grand at Moon Palace Cancun Makes a Grand Entrance

By Kelsey Ogletree, November 2, 2017

Stepping into The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun is like walking into The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. But instead of glittering lights of the Strip, you’re steps from the glittering ocean. That vibe is why The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun is poised to be a complete game changer for large meetings in Mexico. And the best part? It’s only 10 minutes from Cancun International Airport.

One of four resorts within the giant resort of the Moon Palace Cancun, The Grand has been completely transformed. No longer only a designated area at Moon, The Grand has a sparkling new convention center, 1,316 swanky new guest rooms (including 34 swim-up suites) and 10 high-style, international restaurants that would give any big-city establishment a run for its money. Planners looking for an upper-echelon south-of-the-border experience will be blown away by the quality of everything The Grand encompasses, as it’s something new and different for Mexico. So far, more than 6,000 room nights are on the books, with many more expected once planners experience the destination for themselves.

The convention center lobby level includes a nearly 33,000-sq.-ft. ballroom. A huge terrace off the lobby can accommodate all kinds of special events, from banquets to receptions, encompassing almost 32,000 square feet while providing views of the ocean. Other amenities include nine outdoor pools, five swim-up bars, the 77,000-sq.-ft. Awe Spa with hydrotherapy, a 950-person theater, a bowling alley, kids’ and teenagers’ clubs for attendees with families in tow and more.

Le Blanc, Part 2

A 30-minute transport from Moon Palace is the all-inclusive, adults-only Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, also under the Palace Resorts umbrella. While this tranquil property has a large focus on leisure guests, it can pull off more intimate meeting programs with 8,400 square feet of meeting space, including an outdoor terrace and an oceanfront patio.

With the feel of a luxury hotel, the nine-story, 260-room property has three pools (which can be used for events) and five restaurants (Lumiere, a formal French-fusion experience with a seven-course tasting menu, is the standout). Downtime for guests to explore Blanc Spa, with 19 treatment rooms and a blissful hydrotherapy area, is a must for any itinerary.

This fall, the brand will launch its second Le Blanc property, Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos, located 35 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport. This larger location will have 373 guest rooms, the brand’s signature spa, seven restaurants and five bars, in addition to 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The Blanc Convention room, one of four on-site, will accommodate up to  630 people.
