Insider Series | Creating a User-Friendly Conference Experience

By Matt Love, June 13, 2016

At the How Design Live 2016 in Atlanta, we caught up with keynote speaker David Lesue, creative director at Workfront. Lesue designs UX (user experience) for the cloud-based project management software company with a focus on “useful, usable and delightful” design. Event professionals can take his advice and translate it to AX, or the “attendee experience.”

In this video, Lesue urges meeting planners to think about usability in their conference websites, materials and event design. “Focus on the usability first, and [attendees] will forgive you if it’s not the most beautiful in the world, as long as it answers their questions effectively.”

When it comes to conference design, Lesue believes “it’s all kind of [set up] from the point of view of the conference organizer. If you could reverse engineer it and think about the user’s needs” your event would be even better.

Hear his other ideas for improving AX in this video brought to you by The Heart of Florida’s Emerald Coast.
